Sippin' on chai
Watchin' the sky change color
From blue to gray.
Flecks of gold and orange fly by
Steered forcibly by the blustery wind.

There's a harsh, cold note in the air,
A hint of winter, a hint of snow.

Multi-colored bikes are tethered
Like skinny horses to rusting rails
Next to summer's dried out blossoms.
They are shivering in the presence of darker days coming.
